ECD Function Shift – from DSD to DBE

During the State of the Nation Address in 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that Early Childhood Development would shift from being the responsibility of the Department of Social Development to the Department of Basic Education. This function shift is on track to take place on 1 April 2022.
